Classic
Where players continue after Youth Development Academy, competing against clubs across the region.
Overview
- Designed to create the best training and playing environment possible, helping players grow their technical and tactical understanding at the highest level of NCYSA play.
- Ages 11U–19U, boys and girls, with regional programming in Chapel Hill/Durham, Chatham County, and Alamance County.
- Attendance at all weekly training sessions is expected. There's no guaranteed playing time — coaches maximize minutes for players who show up to practice.
Training & games
- 11U–14U: 3 sessions/week in fall (Aug–Nov) and spring (Feb–May); 2 sessions/week in winter (Dec–Jan).
- 15U–19U boys: 2 sessions/week in winter. Older girls train August–January to work around high school spring schedules.
Competition
- 4–5 teams per age group at 11U/12U, tiered Academy Jr/Jr Elite, Gold/Green, and Black/White/Grey.
- 13U and up: teams ranked Gold, Green, Black, White.
- Mandatory tryouts each April/May. No roster guarantee — players are evaluated continuously through the year.
Season
Teams attend 3–6 events per year (1–3 per season), with the possibility of out-of-state tournaments.
